The following websites, reviewed by the LIV Librarians, provide useful starting points if you are on the hunt for information on line. Each edition of this newsletter will feature three new useful website destinations.
Victorian WorkCover Authority: www.workcover.vic.gov.au
The website of the Victorian WorkCover Authority is packed with information about the rights and obligations of both employees and employers. The homepages catalogue current issues and recent changes in WorkCover and occupational health and safety and visitors can access a wide range of forms, codes of practice and other guidance material.
Australia.gov.au: www.australia.gov.au
This site is a comprehensive gateway to information about how individuals and businesses can access and use Australian government services. It is a handy resource for the times you are unsure about which department to contact or need some general guidance on what services are available and how to find them.
Office of the Public Advocate: www.publicadvocate.vic.gov.au
The aim of the Office of the Public Advocate, an independent statutory office, is to promote the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. This site has a range of fact sheets and information on topics including guardianship and administration, enduring powers of attorney and guardianship and medical consent.
