Practice Information - Experience
Brendan has two main practice areas, commercial work and litigation. He advises and represents private and corporate clients in transactional work including commercial and retail leasing, sale of business and corporate structures, share buy backs, shareholder agreements, creation of trusts and partnership agreements, confidentiality and policy advice.
His litigation practice is broad ranging involving both civil and criminal litigation in which he has over twenty years experience. Brendan advises both employer and employees in wrongful dismissal claims, executive terminations, redundancy, unfair dismissals, unlawful dismissals and discrimination claims.
Brendan has extensive experience in representing clients in criminal matters in the Supreme, County and Magistrates courts. He is also retained by Government Departments to advise on criminal matters and to conduct prosecutions on behalf of those Departments. He has represented a director in the HIH Royal Commission and has represented clients in ASIC enquiries.
He has represented many clients in commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Brendan has acted in a variety of commercial disputes including construction, insurance, partnership and trust disputes, personal injury, defamation, contractual, trade practices and insolvency disputes. He had litigated in the State and Federal courts, VCAT and AAT jurisdictions.
